Their goal is to muddy the waters as much as possible to make people question the FBI so that when Muellers ultimate findings are released enough people have the idea in the back of their mind that the FBI is biased and thus the findings cant be trusted. The GOP KNOWS they will not be able to win with facts so they are going to try and erode away at the perceived credibility of the FBI even if the stuff they say isn't true.
