Food for thought.... When a temporary program was extended it became a pattern basically on how to enslave the nations farmers and get the land away from generational farmers. The larger the program grew the more small farmers could not compete. Many of those farming now who are in debt to their nuts do not ever plan on paying off their debt. They are content to take out more loans every year to try and make a crop as long as they can drive those new pickup trucks and have the newest equipment to operate with. Most that I know that still own their land free and clear do not take out federal loans and they have stopped farming. A few raise some cows and perhaps maybe even a few hogs but not on a strictly commercial basis. Farmers have to eat too.
