They do already, it's part of the survival gear, standard issue. But the GPS can sometimes get damaged in bail-out or jammed.

The biggest problem isn't finding the guy. It's getting the rescue crews in and out safely.

They cannot tell everyone exactly how they did it.....but you can bet that they were using A10s and possibly SPECTOR gunships to monitor the area.

My understanding is they baited the Iranians into an area making them think the downed airman was hiding there while they were in another area retrieving him.

It would be fun to bait them into a killzone and just open up on them with a AC-130 SPECTOR. Watch them get blown to pieces.
