So you DON'T mean "Democrat". Either that or you're too stupid to know the difference.
Running a city is somewhat "democratic" in that people vote for referenda and policymakers, but it's never "Democratic" any more than it's "Republican" or "Whig" or ******* "Federalist". There is nothing ideological in proclaiming when it's time to run the snowplows or who gets their garbage picked up today. That's just ******* FUNCTIONALITY. And that's why Seattle, like most cities, doesn't even use political parties in its elections because it's ******* IRRELEVANT.
And yet, all but one of the nine city council members self-identify as Democrats - the remaining councilman is a Socialist Alternative.

And the OP self-identifies as a ******* moron but that doesn't get him off the hook for his moronic posting.
Frank ******* Rizzo "identified as a Democrat" too when he ran for mayor of a city that DOES have partisan elections. So did Ray Nagin. They did that because they both knew running as a "Republican" would go nowhere. That demonstrates --------------------------- what?
The sheriff in my town runs variously as a "Democrat" or as a "Republican" depending on which way he thinks the town is swinging that year. He's the same guy doing the same job in the same way. That label means exactly the same as the question of whether their shoe size is an odd or even number.
Or take the governor of West Virginia. Republican who ran as a "Democrat" to get elected. Same thing. Arlen Specter was a "Democrat", then he was a "Republican", then he was a "Democrat" again. SAME ******* GUY. Hillary Rodham Clinton was a "Republican" before she was a "Democrat". So was Arianna Huffington.
Dave Treen was a "Democrat" before he was a "Republican". So was Trent Lott. So was Jesse Helms. So was Sonny Perdue. So was Richard Shelby. So was Strom Thurmond. So was David Duke. So was Thad Cochran. So was John Connally. So was Elizabeth Dole. So was Rick Perry. So was Mike Pence. So was Roy Moore. ALL of them made that switch to draw votes, no other reason, certainly not ideological.
Phil Gramm. Billy Tauzin. Woody Jenkins. Fob James. Norm Coleman. Condoleeza Rice. Jean Kirkpatrick. Stop me when you recognize a name.
"Self-identifies" my ass. WHY you cretins think you can just turn off everybody else's intellect just because you can't be bothered to use your own remains a mystery.
