I suspect last Wednesday night was the tipping point. I'm sure there were multiple phone calls from every Republican leader and donor in the country to Pence's office saying something to the effect of, "You better do something before this idiot destroys us". Because the next day the markets tanked and voila, within 18 hours, there was Pence out front with every expert they could still round up. And yes conservatives, those people while remaining neutral in how they handled the politics around Trump, were public servants.
Standing there doing the job of reassuring the public while Donny sat beside them with his hands folded and looking like a five year old that had just been sent to the corner. While Pence is a wingnut, he's at least a politician who know how government largely is supposed to work. Now he's stepped to the side and took the training wheels off of Trump....until the next time the president riffs off the rails..which according to my watch, should be....right about.....
