The reality is that the “rich” are paying the vast majority of taxes, myself included. What I don’t like is others being able to vote themselves money from my pocket. By the way, the ultra-rich are largely Democrat. They like to talk a big game, but they don’t really want to pay for all their talk. They want the working “rich” to pay for it, you know, successful working people(doctors, lawyers, small business owners, etc.) who make a lot more than average but are not living off the interest from their investments.

We have been through this before. A Democrat garbage collector in NYC makes as much as a Republican engineer in some states. Granted, the garbage collector has a much lower standard of living, but he does have the same salary. I would argue that the standard of living for an average Republican is much better than that of an average Democrat. I know that professionals and successful people in my area with a good-great standard of living are largely Republican. Less successful people with a lower-poor standard of living are largely Democrat. That is the way it generally is outside large cities in the US.
