I think this stems from the government removing the LGBTQ flag from the Stonewall Monument where the LGBTQ civil rights movement effectively started.

I wouldn't worry, they can never win back the power with their dwindling and increasingly radicalized base unless they cheat their asses off, and this time their cheating will be made public and irrefutable.
