Still quite a shocker... no one does this. No one quits in the middle of a first term as governor unless there's a problem. And there are small problems and then there are big problems.

Palin could've had a very easy next 18 months in Alaska and not run again. She could've finished her term, accomplished more of her goals and run for President in 2012 or Senate in 2010. This will likely ruin her political career... which is probably what she wants to do. She'll make money off of her book and speaking appearances... but she'll still be in public and get bad press. I don't get it.

Yeah, the only reason why she'd be finished is if she did something wrong. I mean REALLY wrong.

She's very head strong and I'll give her credit, very tough. She failed last year... okay, pick yourself up, go order a ******* American History college level book from Amazon.com and follow Drudge every day for six months -- having an understanding of American politics is not that difficult.

Not one of her criticisms ever came on how ambitious she WASN'T. This was a woman who had her eyes set on the future.. if she's bowing out now, she's done for. And the only reason why she would be done for now is if she did something wrong and wants to resign... she is the titanic and this brewing scandal is the motherload of icebergs.
