Sanders...Better than expected in Iowa

Add trillions in government financed demand, act shocked when the price rises.

Gotta love liberals and their economic ignorance.

Simplistic response.......

It is NOT so much where the money would be generated from to implement the policies that Sanders is advocating (he has actually spoken often on this issue of revenue).....
The REAL HARD part for Sanders is two-fold: Adequately educate nay-sayers (like you) who interpret socialism as communism....AND to convince Congress to finally vote against their OWN PERSONAL INTERESTS....which boil down to getting re-elected and screw those who got them elected in the first place.

Yes, Sanders' response, and all the libs, to economic reality is simplistic. And wrong.

Reality disagrees with you.

But it's ok, no one values your opinion anyway.

You mean adding trillions in demand doesn't raise prices? Durr.

For god's sakes, the man can't pronounce Muslim any better than Rainman can pronounce Hamas. And he left Brooklyn before it went all black, let alone for it's gentrification. LOL

He clearly outlines how he intends to pay for his programs. Did you bother to read them? Of course you didn't.

Well he does, but the chances of getting single payer out of the house are .... well there are no chances of that.

Sanders TWO main policies (there are others) are free public, higher education, and Medicare for all:

To pay for these huge social benefits which other industrialized countries offer, Sanders proposes:

To fund higher ed. would be a tax on Wall Street speculations (aka, gambling)...a process that he simply advocates by stating, "the middle class bailed out Wall Street, its time that Wall Street pays back the middle class."

To fund health care, Sanders states that, YES, we'll pay an additional tax. but that amount will be LOWER than what we are paying to private health insurers....Sure, private health insurers' CEOs will have to forgo a new Lear Jet, but it is high time to take on these crooks who have been fleecing the American public for decades.

In other words, we succumb to the blackmailing techniques of lobbyists who openly bribe House members?

You're clearly confused about what I've been saying.
Libs have pushed more and more government provided money into paying for college.
The result has been higher prices for college. They are then shocked that it's become more expensive.
Their new solution is to make it free. Imagine how much it will cost then.

Liberals are clueless when it comes to economics. Sanders is top of the clueless pile.

I don't care how he thinks he'll pay for his idiotic spending wishes. He'll fail. That's reality. That's economics.

Yeah, stick it to those mutual funds. The middle class can just retire on Social Security.

It is the younger generation coming out in huge crowds.. They are tired of the corruptness and price of their education .
Yes, if Sanders gets elected and if he can convince a wholly republican congress to pass free college education for this demographic, getting an expensive degree and graduating with no jobs in sight makes the entire effort and campaign promise worth exactly dookie. I was on the tail end of the Baby Boomers who all took up the jobs. The competition was fierce....and that was back when there were jobs to be had... NAFTA, robots and relocation of labor and headquarters overseas with no tariff penalties...and an endless influx of cheap/illegal labor from the Mexican border makes striving to reach the middle class a pathetic joke. It's a mirage kids. It ain't gonna happen. You'll get your degree so you can work at Burger King, if you're lucky and five other people with an MS in business or science are vying for the same piddly job.

I am in the middle of the baby boomers , put myself through college and worked a job as well.
We were able to do that because it was affordable..Why are we making it so hard for our children, and grandchildren to have the American Dream?

Our generation is retiring or getting ready to , we did open the doors to technology so if you are good and smart you will prevail with even a BA.

Your right about flipping burgers with much competition for the good jobs..An apartment in Silicon Valley ( San Francisco ) .is over $2000.00 month for the same studio I rented in the 1970's for $200.00.

Ahhh, I see you're parroting the FOX business network talking heads......I can see your point, its better than thinking on your own.

What Sanders doing so well in Iowa should tell the democrats is that even a door knob can do as well as Mrs. Bosnia Clinton. When another white man ties the heir apparent that is real bad news for the heiress.

Sanders looking good for now, but he doesn't have the funding to keep up with the lying pantsuit.

I read that he raised $10 million in donations of less than $30 a shot.....JUST in January...Not bad.

Agreed.....In my generation, us young folks rallied against the war on Nam....We had a substantial stake in that disaster. Hopefully, today's younger generation will also realize that, not only the ridiculous cost of student loans, but the corrupt economic system must be ameliorated is they wish for (at least) the same standard of living of us parents.

They spend so much on college , pay the loans and can not afford to buy a home or have a child. Its not their American dream right now..

.

Why?

Libs have pushed more and more government provided money into paying for college.

That's BS shouldering the blame just on "libs".......College and universities are primarily businesses now, and they lobby just as hard and as rich as the NRA.

You'd think they'd have noticed when Obama beat her.

The dems are in really bad shape at the state level. She's most likely going to pick this guy as the VP

Julian Castro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He may be a great guy, but he's only been mayor of a mid-level city. I'd suspect the dems have a good crop of younger guys coming up in places with immigrant populations. It goes in cycles. The gop has gerrymandered them out of contention in most state legislatures and the House, but demographics will probably flip things back again. I goes in cycles. But, they are absolutely dead in the deep south, and will remain so.

Regardless of the razor-thin percentile, Sanders "won" last night.....an amazing feat for a guy who many thought stood nary a chance against Clinton.

For democrats, the question that lingers is simply this: Is Sanders' success due to his own policies and messages, or is it due to an intense dislike by many progressives toward Clinton?

The primaries in SC and NV will provide some answer.

he always had a chance in iowa.

he always had a chance in iowa.

What Sanders was able to do in Iowa, is to get young progressives out to the caucuses....
That was not an easy task and a good omen for Sanders in future primaries.
