If the US had captured Iranian sailors trump would be demanding they be waterboarded.
When a foreign military vessel enters US waters, the USCG or the Navy contacts the vessel, notifies them that they are in US waters and escorts them back to international waters. They would never take them prisoner unless they refused to leave or took some hostile actions.
The US ships in the persion gulf had engine or navigation problems, the Iranian should have either escorted them out of Iranian waters or stayed with them until another US ship could have rendered aid.
Taking them prisoner was an act or war and should have been treated as such by our president
The idea that two US Navy vessels with combined four turbocharged diesel engines would break down is ludicrous on it's face. The idea that both vessels having the highest tech navigation systems which can function UNDERWATER!!!!!! broke down is no less ludicrous.
Anyone who has ever been in the military will tell you the US military is the best equipped in the world. EVERYTHING has redundancy built in! ******* EVERYTHING! Both those vessels had 100% separate in every conceivable way possible back-up fail-safe navigation systems. They knew where they were.
**** man! The men and women who serve the ******* food have spare egg turners!
What really happened was ten Seals/Special Ops were tasked to go snoop at the island claimed by the Iranians. The Iranian patrol boats spotted them on radar and waited until the US Navy vessels were well into the disputed boundaries then they apprehended the US forces. Then the Iranians used the capture as a perfect photo op to make Bonobo once again look like the coward ***** he is seen as by every ******* world leader.
Or is the White House suggesting that the vaunted US Navy couldn't send out a couple of runabouts, costing a million bucks each, to go ******* fishing for the night's dinner without both breaking down???????? THINK!!!!! And those of you so ignorant to believe these vessels were on 'routine patrol' are ******* delusional. The US Navy doesn't send Seals and or Special OPs on 'routine patrol'.
