....make the best hamburger.
So goes the axiom that often prefaces an attack of one sort or another, on a popular figure. And so let it be with Caesar.....or, the Democrat version of Caesar, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Yesterday was the anniversary of his passing, so...leaving him to rest in peace, I saved chopping him up into hamburger for today.
1. Leftism is the most dynamic of religions, and Queen Ann often point it out...
From the Amazon review of Godless, by Coulter…
"Though liberalism rejects the idea of God and reviles people of faith, it bears all the attributes of a religion. In Godless, Coulter throws open the doors of the Church of Liberalism, showing us its sacraments (abortion), its holy writ (Roe v. Wade), its martyrs (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal), its clergy (public school teachers), its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free), its doctrine of infallibility (as manifest in the "absolute moral authority" of spokesmen from Cindy Sheehan to Max Cleland), and its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident)."
And, of course, there's the liberal creation myth: Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
And....Franklin Delano Roosevelt, "...the Socialist Savior of the Democratic Party."
2. For the educated, it is often difficult to fathom why he retains his vaunted position in the political firmament, after all, he.....
a. extended the Hoover Recession into the Great Depression
b. ended the guidance of the Constitution in America
c. destroyed the independence of the Supreme Court
d. extended the length of WWII, at great cost of blood and treasure
e. made certain that communism and Joseph Stalin survived the war, and found a home in America.
Quite a turning point in America's history.
3. And in the age of 'victimology,' one wonders how Liberals/Socialists/Democrats are able to turn a blind eye to Roosevelt's antipathy to blacks, Jews and Asians.
On the one hand, many Liberals/Socialists/Democrats are dupes of the school system, where indoctrination has replaced education.
On the other hand....they may simply be liars and apparatchiks to whom party and politics are more important than country and righteousness.
This:
"The deniers first deceive themselves that they are sincere in their adherence to falsehoods. Thus they cannot be faulted for acting on genuinely held views. But in truth, they have cultivated an ignorance of the facts, what Thomas Aquinas called ignorantia affectata. An ignorance so useful that one protects it at all costs, in order to continue using it in one’s own self interest. This ignorance is not exculpatory, but inculpatory. Forgive them not, for they know full well what they do.' RICHARD BADALAMENTE
Yet....the hagiography and adulation remains for a villain.
