Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, whose is considered a conservative kingmaker as the man behind Fox News, took to Twitter Sunday with a swipe at Donald Trump's recent comments on illegal immigration.

Trump's campaign to be the Republican presidential candidate has swelled in support and media attention following his controversial remarks about the threat posed by undocumented immigrants in the United States.

He sparked outrage by saying that some people crossing the border from Mexico were "rapists" and "criminals."

The comments found support among some, but also a pile of criticism. A slew of corporations, including Macy's, NBC and ESPN, responded to his inflammatory remarks by severing business ties with the real estate magnate.

And on Sunday, the influential Murdoch added his voice to the chorus.

"Mexican immigrants, as with all immigrants, have much lower crime rate than native born," Murdoch wrote on verified Twitter account. He cited El Paso as one of the safest cities, and added, "Trump wrong."

We are talking about two different people. The people who come over legally and the illegal who runs across the border who is without legal right to be here.

Murdoch can have his opinion and it will be interesting to see how the Talk Hosts handle Trump stories from this point on.

LOL and Trump could buy out Murdoch and a majority stake in the company. The man could own Fox News. So, Murdoch better be careful.
Uh... what world do you live in?

Yeah, RM blows Trump away in liquidity and net worth.
RM would never run for President, because that would actually limit the ways he could influence the nation.

He's a citizen of Australia

Edit: no he's not

All he said is that illegals have a lower crime rate than native born. That doesn't mean Mexico isn't sending their criminals across the border (like Trump said).

The SAME RM that got busted for bugging his reporters cell phones?
The same RM that was FORCED to shut down his news paper for spying on the royal family?

Who cares what that SFB thinks?

It's the same Rupert Murdoch that has the most successful right wing noise operation in the world. The same man they call the Republican king maker so yes, what he says is relevant to the election. I imagine crossing someone with that much influence could be fatal or at least very damaging if he didn't want your name anywhere near the White House.

Murdoch controls a certain amount of media. He could pound Trump's campaign into the ground. No matter how much money you have, you still need a certain amount of the media on your side, or at least being fair towards you.
