Attempted Trump assassin Ryan Routh tried to stab himself in the neck with a pen when his guilty verdict was read, according to reports from the courtroom.​

Routh picked up a pen as jurors were leaving the courtroom and started trying to stab himself, prompting marshals to pull him out of the courtroom, according to the Associated Press.​

Marshals shackled him at the waist and ankles before bringing Routh back into the courtroom, according to Fox News.​

“Dad I love you don’t do anything,” his daughter, Sara Routh, screamed, according to the AP. “I’ll get you out. He didn’t hurt anybody.”​

​

Routh was convicted Tuesday on five counts, including attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate, assaulting a federal officer and several gun charges.​
