Well, given that our troops are engaged in the middle east and in the world, then I'm with you that we need to take the war to the terrorists and not wait for them to attack. However, have you ever considered there's a better way? Like not actually being there propping up despots and making everyone's enemy ours?

I'd compare it to walking through Harlem with your wallet hanging out of your pants. Sure, you should have the right to do that. Yes, whoever mugs you is a criminal. Yes, they should be arrested and prosecuted. But it's it still a better practice to just not do it? What if we left government out of the energy business and freed US companies to explore and home and make their own deals internationally and let oil prices just be set by a free market instead of with supplies secured by US troops?

They love that nosy neighbor when he learns you are sick and tries to help you at great expense to himself.
