Ron Paul: Obama no socialist

Ron Paul: Obama no socialist - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

President Obama is not a socialist, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) told conservatives gathered at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference today.

"The question has been raised about whether or not our president is a socialist," Paul said, according to Talking Points Memo. "I am sure there are some people here who believe it," Paul said. "But in the technical sense, in the economic definition of a what a socialist is, no he's not a socialist."

Paul went on to call Obama a "corporatist" instead:

Well Ron, there goes your chance for 2012. But thanks for being honest.
Corporatist he is.
Ron would be the best pResident in His Story.:eusa_hand:
One problem
The flag waving, joo worshipping morons would never allow him in office.
There used to be a guy much like him. Ross Perot.
Immediately dismissed by the bible thumping, flag waving, assholes that have ruined your country.
Off the map is befitting for 3 nations I can think of.One has Queen worshipers. Figure out the other two.
uhhhh.... errrr.... Obama a tool of the corporations? No, he's following the German Socialist's path from the 1930's by getting in bed with them, hooking them on government largess while crippling their ability to do business as normal. All the while he is empowering the unions to become even more influential over their companies by giving them tacitly the force of government, Effectively forcing corporations to obey completely the government for everything. Effectively making them state controlled without "officially" taking over like the Soviets and other Communist nations do.

Essentially a distinction without a meaning.

He is also a marxist, facist socialist who is a Muslim atheist who belongs to a racist christian church.
Nope, sorry, not a birther here, so the whole muslim/atheist/Racist-Christian argument really speaks to only one thing, it's just noise to try and distract from the real point: his true religion is his politics and himself.

But since socialism, fascism, corporatism and marxism are all synonymous, with only barely visible shade varieties of operations that differ, sure you can be right on that.

State-owned of the means of production (and therefore the revenue from them flowing back to the state) is the same as the government being beholden to the interest of large corporations? That doesn't even make a little sense.
Still a distinction without a meaning. Look at GM and Chrysler. They're still "private", but the government owns them. State controlled none the less.

I agree with Paul, Obama isn't a socialist, even though he is definitely for big government.

But if you keep reading what Ronnie Lulu says he calls him a corporatist! That he is for protecting the corporations!

First, everything Ronnie Lulu ever preaches for is no regulations on corporations, removing minimum wage, etc. If Ronnie Lulu's policies don't help corporations then I don't know what does.

Second, Obama has just enacted a bill that has flooded taxation against corporations big and small. He signed a bill that removed loop-holes for tax shelters. The man is anything but a corporatist!

Ronnie Lulu has been drink the wild turkey again. It was like when he railed against spending during he primaries and then it was revealed that he requested and got more pork for his shit little district (and that is what it is, a tiny meaningless district, where any competitor to Ronnie Lulu might raise $25-50K, while Ronnie still has a treasure of millions from his non-presidential run) than any of his Republican components and even a few Democrats. OUCH!

Paul went on to call Obama a "corporatist" instead:

"He's a corporatist," Paul continued. "And unfortunately we have corporatists inside the Republican Party and that means you take care of corporations and corporations take over and run the country."

Paul said examples of President Obama's "corporatism" was evident in the heath care reform bill he signed into law last month. Paul said the mandate in the bill put the power over health care in the hands of corporations rather than private citizens. But he said the bill wasn't the only place where corporatism is creeping into Washington.

You missed some. Let me fill in the blanks:

A “boy” who is an empty suit, a racist, terrorist, child molester, Marxist, Kenyan, watermelon eating, totalitarian, Socialist, drug addicted, gay, Nazi, black, Muslim, Communist, illegal Alien who wants to kill your grandmother and is the "anti Christ"?

Will the Confederate Republican Party of Teabags be able to fit it all on one sign?

Since it's only SEIU infiltrators carrying signs of such stupidity... and other radical leftist agents provocateurs, you should probably ask those thugs.

but at least those signs make them easy to find.

Wait a minute....

Since when did anything Dr. Paul have to say on anything, other than bashing neocons, get cited as credible with the left?
The convenience of the moment. Anything that makes the right look crazy is news worthy and true regardless of credibility, source or accuracy.

It's in your playbook. Page 35, chapter 2.

The government doesn't own Chrysler. It owns some shares, but most of the firm is earned by retirees of the company and Fiat.

I do love how the right can claim in one breath that the President is a communist, and then in the next claim he's a tool of corporations.
:clap2:

Maybe I need to change my definition of the new right from dysfunctional to schizophrenic.

Both wings of the Demopublicratican Party are dysfunctional and schizophrenic.

They're constantly taking the worst ideas of history's biggest failed states, while claiming that in order to protect freedom it has to be taken away and/or that this time they'll get central authoritarianism right.

I like Ron Paul up to the points when he says stuff like this.

Unless you want to look at it this way. P-BO's not a socialist... he's a fascist.

You mean you like Ron Paul's crazy theories and his other weirdo crapola, but not the truth?

Wassamatta Dante? Speaking truth to power about Herr Obama getting your neg rep finger itchy again? Here, have some back.

The Congressman is correct, and uses the synonym corporatist to identify as fascist the vermin Obama. That this would pass over the heads of so many is not surprising in the least.
