Rising Prices

How strange you have forgotten Trump promised to bring prices down on Day One.
He also promised the end of the Russia-Ukraine War on Day One. The suckers bought it.

Prices are down. Let me guess, you shop at some yuppie holier than thou leftist run grocery store paying $4.00 for the same bar of soap selling for $0.99 elsewhere
Prices are not down. They are up and rising quickly. Maxwell House went up $3.00 at Costco. It was $12.39 until last week. At Publix, those small Folgers plastic cans of 9oz of Hazelnut or French Vanilla was $5.39 under Biden in January. Now they're $9.99.

Bullshit.
Funny as heck. If prices went up under Biden, greedy corporations are at work.

Prices up under Trump, Trump’s fault.

How much for a gallon of gas and 5 dozen eggs today compare with 2024?

I just paid $16 and change for 24 bars of Dove soap. Under Biden, the same amount cost nearly $30. Also spareribs are on sale for $1.99 lb. I couldn’t find that low price under Biden.

Back at Costco yesterday. Now the Folgers have jumped from $14.49 to $17.49.

All Trump's fault.

No, they're not.

On the day Biden left office gas was $2.79 at my local Circle K and $2.69 at Costco.
According to the US Energy Information Administration the natl average gas price fell from $3.62/gal in April 2024, down to $3.08/gal "the day Biden left office"

Sure, as the election got closer, he did what he could to get those prices down.

Maybe I need to come in and do your job for you , since you seem to be slopping it up. There are 1) some much more significant price increases + 2) another major factor, and you haven't said a word about them.

1. Housing rents continue to skyrocket, with monthly increases of $100-$300/month. This is especially tough after the disastrous 100-200% inflation of housing rents of the Biden years. These are our most expensive & constantly ongoing expense.
2. Social Security increases continue to languish at pathetically low rates waaaaay below the rent jumps. Last one was 2.5%.
In my case that is $25/month +
Rent just went up $104/month.

This is $79/mo LESS in my pocket (or $948/yr LESS)

And no sign of any change. Who is even talking about it ?

Why are you a moron?
The national gas price average is a lot more relevant than your little Circle K.
So FACTS are not your forte. OK.

How about commenting on the second part of the post ? > housing rents & Social Security.

Prices are rising, and will soon start to rise noticeably. I went to Walmart yesterday, and the almond milk that was $2.42 for months and months and months is now $2.63. The Yeungling 12 packs that have been the same price since literally the Obama years is now $1.50 more. Over $2.00 more at Publix.

With the war in Iran, gas prices will start to jump. That will be on Trump.
Almond milk. :auiqs.jpg:

What's so funny ? I drink almond milk too. With cereal.
It's used in this house for coffee, as it tones down bitterness. But Marion is always desperately trying to prove he's a man. That's why he adopted the John Wayne avatar. Classic projection.

The fact is that these were the prices on Joe Biden's last day in office.

Today it's $2.99 at Circle K.

Thanks Trump!
April was 3 months ago, dope. NOW the tariffs are starting to hit.

Del Monte, around since the 1800s, has filed bankruptcy. One major factor? Trump's metal tariffs have made can prices go way up. They also own Contadina (good riddance) and College Inn broths.

It is undeniable that prices are going up.

U.S. inflation rose slightly last month as grocery prices ticked higher

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. inflation picked up a bit last month as food costs rose, though overall inflation remained mostly tame.

Consumer prices increased 2.4% in May compared with a year ago, according to a Labor Department report released Wednesday. That is up from a 2.3% yearly increase in April. Excluding the volatile food and energy categories, core prices rose 2.8% for the third straight month. Economists pay close attention to core prices because they generally provide a better sense of where inflation is headed.

Grocery prices rose 0.3% from April to May, and are up 2.2% in the past year. Fruits and vegetables, breakfast cereals, and frozen foods all rose in price. Egg costs fell 2.7%, their second straight drop though they are still more than 40% more expensive than a year ago.
