RIP hot lips Hulihan

"And his son, William Hornberger, told the New York Times that his father hadn’t intended to write an anti-war book. “My father was a political conservative, and he did not like the liberal tendencies that Alan Alda portrayed Hawkeye Pierce as having,” he explained."

I never cared for it. I liked the Actors but not the show. It seemed like anti American Propaganda. It was in reruns for some time before I would watch it fully and only because I liked the Actors and a little of the content.

My Korean friends do NOT appreciate the way that war and the Korean people were portrayed.

There was a reason for that.

MASH may have been set in the Korean War, but it was really about American’s growing discontent with the Viet Nam war.
The first three years were better than the rest of the run of the series. It was "Early WOKE" as the years went by. It was entertaining yet not believable.

He was hilarious!

I believe that was the point. You were supposed to hate her and Frank ... it was supposed to make Alan Alda a little less insufferable.

After Larry Linville left the show, they tried to make her character more sympathetic.
Nah, were that the case then Hillary would have played the part. ;)

Jokes aside pretty much anyone (with some MILF appeal at the time) could have played it.

Any man I know can still watch a hot girl who they can't stand.

No many could bear to look at Hillary for more than a few seconds if she were sweeter than Shirley Temple.

The T.V. sit/com based on the Korean war lasted longer than the war. Personally I always felt bad about the cruel tricks the Mash doctors played on the nurse. Calling her "hot lips" was bad enough but it was disrespectful on a lot of levels. They would have been bounced out of the army in real life.

It made me think Alan Alda was cool... until I found out he was a libtard.
Same with me. I thought Alda's act was how you got girls. That was incorrect. in reality, women would be repulsed by Alda's wimpy character, though some might like that he's a doctor. Women do not like blathering leftwing promiscuous peaceniks. They like strong men with a plan.

Same story with Ted Danson in Cheers.
