RIP country legend Loretta Lynn (The Coal Miner's Daughter), dead at 90

"now i spend all my evenings all alone
success has made a failure of our home"

"you never hold me like you used to do
it's funny what success has done to you"

"the minute you're gone i cry
the minute you're gone i die
i'm like a child
i stare into emptiness
filled with loneliness"

they're gonna put me in the movies
i'm gonna be a big star
all i have to do is act naturally

i'm singing the blues
because after my baby left me
i've lost all i can lose

"Wow RIP Loretta. One of the greats. When I was a kid my mom would play Loretta (and Patsy) non-stop. I was just not into it at all back then…but eventually I grew up. Coal Miner’s Daughter 4 Eva" - The Walkmen singer Hamilton Leithauser

this closes out her debut album, and is by far the best song on it

there's nothing left for me to do
but cry cry cry cry cry over you

Loretta Lynn, the Kentucky coal miner’s daughter whose frank songs about life and love as a woman in Appalachia pulled her out of poverty and made her a pillar of country music, has died.

I don't listen to country music, but she was obviously a long enduring icon in her genre.
May she rest in peace..
