Do you think of all the females who play sports there are many that have to compete against trans athletes? I don't.
Do you think that all the females that compete against trans athletes know or care what somebodies' biological gender is? I don't. In fact, until a certain age a lot of sports are mixed

The simple fact is, that this issue that gets you all up in arms affects an infinitesimal small group of people. So few in fact, that every time it happens its big news.

So let me flip this question. Why is this tiny percentage of the population so important that their mere existence is a personal affront to an entire political ideology? X and Y does lie. There are a number of syndromes that give biological morphologies not matching X and Y. Plus the fact that this whole subgroup of the population sure as hell don't feel it matches their gender.

The original way of dealing with real gender dysphoria was to try to convince them to be comfortable in their body, and result to drugs/surgery as last resort.

In the past decade, it has morphed into a protected class thing, and fetishists have jumped on the bandwagon. Plus, the whole social contagion thing with pubescent girls thinking they are boys (called rapid onset gender dysphoria) isn't the same as the dysphoria in the past, which was almost exclusively boys thinking they are girls, and usually started well before puberty.
