A ceasefire has been taken off the table. Trump, quite rightly, recognized that neither party would abide by a ceasefire.

Trump went into the meeting demanding a ceasefire. He told NAO leaders. The Fox noise repeated it.

Trump didn’t change his mind.

Putin gave him his orders.

And the cowardly little man is out there now trying to talk ^krainecand NATO into giving Russia victory in Ukraine.

It’s betrayal. Betrayal by a weak, cowardly little man.

Russia has “behind its back” the strongest argument against Ukraine's aspiration to join NATO:

The Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine, adopted in 1990 and serving as the basis for recognizing its independence from the USSR, defined a neutral status without joining any military blocs and alliances. Inscribing the aspiration of NATO membership in Ukraine's constitution renders the declaration of sovereignty illegitimate.

Russia, as the legal successor of the USSR, can withdraw recognition of Ukraine's independence and return it to Russia without any SMO(special military operation). Apparently with this hint about the fate of Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov wore a sweatshirt with the inscription of the USSR when he visited the United States for talks on the “Ukrainian case”.

On the other hand, at the end of WW when the United States and Itain were trying to get the z ited Nations set up, Moscow demanded two votes. Our nations only get one.

Russia got two. By engaging in the fiction that Ukraine was an independent country that just happened to be a member of the USSR. The irony here is that the Red Army was engaged in a brutal war with a Ukranian partisans who did not want Stalin back. The war dragged on till 1949.

How is freezing defensive aid twice at Putin’s request helping Ukraine?

Defensive aid to Ukraine was held up by Trump. Leading up to his failed attempt to blackmail Zelinsky.

Trump bullied the GOP Congress and McCarthy into holding up Ukranian aid for months in 2021 and 22.

So, if your question is “How is freezing defensive aid twice at Putin’s request helping Ukraine?”, just ask Trump.

See I don’t really blame Trump for not achieving a ceasefire. Various would leaders have been trying for years without success.

But why on earth did he virtually proclaim peace before the talks even took place?

Why do his supporters on here start threads with titles saying the war is over? Why were they already saying he’s gonna win the Nobel Peace prize for a peace that hasn’t happened?

There was this girl in my class, I must have been 12 or so. In those days we had 3 ring notebooks that were hard. I was walking along and Carol said hello. I must have not liked the way she said hello. I smashed that notebook right in her face. Carol Turoff. I still remember her name. She screamed like a banshee.

I only sabotaged those teams because I loved seeing the look on their collective faces knowing no matter how hard they played, how fast they ran, how hard they hit the ball, they were going to lose. And there was nothing they could do about it.

(1). Putin agrees to a 30 day temporary cease fire. Trump, speaking for Ukraine, agrees. Start of ceasefire to be soon, but not immediate. Both sides will attack conspicuously during the short wait before the ceasefire.
(2). Second session, including Ukraine reps, will be scheduled. If it can't be scheduled during the initial ceasefire, the ceasefire will be extended.
