I'm not sure how I missed this. Seems many didn't bother to mention it. Gaetz introduced a resolution to remove all troops from Syria. Now for years many have argued we didn't even have troops in Syria but that was proven to not be true.

Sadly he had very little support in doing that. 103 for, 321 against. Why is it anyone would have voted against this? I do not understand. What business do we have in putting troops there to start with?

The resolution was led by Gaetz and cosponsored by four other Republicans, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Matt Rosendale (R-MT). It also received support from some progressive Democrats, including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ro Khanna (D-CA).

Now I will argue against many of the things those noted will support BUT while getting labelled the fringe pretty much all around, how is it the "fringe" that can only see the problem here?

House Votes Down Resolution to Withdraw Troops from Syria - News From Antiwar.com

We wonder why the world is turning against us.

Abigail Spanberger, Pelosi, McCarthy, and the rest of the Zionist Fascists all voted to keep our troops where Netanyahu wants them...

Now why would we still have troops in Syria? Could you believe it's oil?

If you don't trust my liberal position, trust Benedict Donald.

But even as Trump heralded his push to pull nearly all U.S. troops out of what he derided as the “blood-stained sands” of Syria, he’s repeatedly referred to the country’s oil fields as prized land that he’s intent on protecting.

“We’ve secured the oil, and, therefore, a small number of U.S. troops will remain in the area where they have the oil,” Trump said Wednesday while discussing the pullout of all but 200 to 300 U.S. troops in Syria. “And we’re going to be protecting it, and we’ll be deciding what we’re going to do with it in the future.”

Of course, it's not our oil to secure.

Our government is following the exact same path all militaristic empires throughout history have followed to it’s demise.

A 4 year old article lol

This might be news to you but Trump is no longer president

Not our problem now anymore than it was then
We still have troops there, so yeah it is. Didn't this happen about a month ago?

The Pentagon said a drone attack on a U.S. base Thursday killed a contractor and injured five U.S. troops and another contractor. That was followed by two simultaneous attacks on U.S. forces in Syria Friday, according to U.S. officials.

The officials said that based on preliminary information, there was a rocket attack Friday at a Conoco plant, and one U.S. service member was injured but is in stable condition. At about the same time, several drones were launched at Green Village, where U.S. troops are also based. One official said all but one of the drones were shot down, and there were no U.S. injuries there. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss military operations.

That wouldn't happen if we started minding our own fucking business

Tell us. What business is it of us to be in Syria?
It's not oil, honest injun!

U.S. forces in Syria are focused on fighting the remnants of the Islamic State group and are not guarding oil fields as previously ordered by former President Donald Trump, a U.S. defense official said Monday.

Since a U.S. firm contracted last year with the Kurds in northern Syria to help exploit northeastern Syria oil reserves, U.S. troops are not involved, said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.

The 900 U.S. military personnel and contractors in the region "are not authorized to provide assistance to any other private company, including its employees or agents, seeking to develop oil resources in Syria," Kirby said.

The only exception is when U.S. troops in Syria are operating under existing authorizations to protect civilians, he said, which could explain the continuing presence of U.S. forces around the area of the oil fields.

"It's important to remember that our mission there remains to enable the enduring defeat of ISIS," he said, referring to the Islamic State.

The shift is more a change in tone by the new U.S. President Joe Biden from Trump's policy for the decade-old Syrian civil war.

The main oil fields are in territory in the country's northeast, a region where the U.S.-allied Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces hold sway and depend on the oil for income.":

Well maybe a little for the oil.......hahahaha.
