Republicans worry Trump's tariffs could harm economy

I was going to post this and say "trump is attacking the 1st amendment"

But then I see this guy wasn't born in America. I'm sorry, but you don't get to come to America, get a visa or become a citizen, and then attack America and expect to use our rights against us. **** you. Get out. Go back to where you came from.

See? I can agree with you guys.

A wrinkle in Khalil’s case is that he’s a lawful permanent resident with more legal protection than a student visa holder would have, according to immigration policy experts. The officers who arrested Khalil initially told his lawyers they were revoking his student visa; Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested Sunday that his legal status didn’t make a difference.
“We will be revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported,” Rubio said.
Its not an open or shut case either way

Send that towel head packing. I don't think people who become American citizens should have the same rights we have. I may have free speech but a foreigner who comes here and becomes a citizen and then trashes this country, should be deported.

I live near Dearborn MI. We have the most Arabs in America. We see this shit all the time. They come here and then trash America and talk about how great things were back home where they came from. I say deport people like this. It may not be legal to do to an American, but we can revoke their citizenship and THEN deport them. They may not have broken a law but they are stabbing this country in the back. If you like Iraq or Iran so much, go back.

The guy is not even a citizen

But I dont know if he’s done anything except talk

Trump is damaging the United States and his juvenile obsession with tariffs is going to backfire.

There's an emerging global boycott of US goods and services, this should terrify every American, but until and unless our government is fixed this is going to get painful.

So far China, the EU, Canada, and Mexico have retaliated or announced retaliatory moves.

Canada just announced $20Bn in additional tariffs as a result of the metal tariffs on it, this morning.

Yes, sadly the UK's Starmer is looking servile, but most of the EU is not going to be pushed around.

Trump wants canada to lower tariffs on imports from the United States

There is nothing wrong with that
Under the Free Trade Agreement, that Trump re-negotiated and called the greatest deal, most goods flow between Canada, the US, and Mexico tariff free already.

I dont agree with that arrangement and I think trump is having second thoughts also

Such a deal is ok with canada which is a stable country not ruled by drug gangs, and has and economy on our same level

Mexico otoh is a mess

Wages are not comparable to those in the US and that puts American workers at a disadvantage

It's scheduled to be looked at next year. Doing all that sh$it only projects that making treaties with the US is meaningless.

'Republican lawmakers are growing alarmed over signs that President Trump’s expanding trade war is hurting the economy, something they’re hearing from constituents at home who are struggling to adapt to Trump’s zigzagging tariff pronouncements. GOP lawmakers say they’re hearing from business owners, exporters, farmers and local leaders that Trump’s threat of steep tariffs against Canada, Mexico and Europe are chilling business sentiment in the United States.

Companies feel less confident about expanding operations and hiring new workers, given their uncertainty about the costs of imported goods and the potential loss of foreign markets over the next year. “The Canadian tariffs will definitely have a detrimental impact on the economy of Maine and on border communities in particular,” said Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine). “We have for example a major paper mill in Northern Maine right on the border that gets its pulp from Canada.”

“That mill alone, which is by far the biggest employer in the region, employs 510 people directly. I’ve talked to the owner of that mill, the imposition of a 25-percent tariff could be devastating,” she warned. Trump announced Thursday that he would pause 25-percent tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico until April 2, but Collins warned that the looming threat of high fees is having a chilling effect on her state’s economy.

“I think it freezes investment until they know exactly what the impact is going to be. So I understand the president’s desire to level the playing field, but Canada’s just not the problem in Maine,” she said, citing wood products, blueberries, lobsters and potatoes that go back-and-forth across the border as key drivers of the economy.'

Republicans have only themselves to blame, they created this monster.

If only there were some way for Congressional Republicans to check a reckless, irresponsible, and out of control president…
Try again. Collins is a democrat in RINO clothing and Rand Paul just said he was hearing from constituents--nowhere did it say he was worried. That's the thing about Fake News, after you use it long enough, people recognize it instantly.

Lets give it some time and see what shakes out
