Except that Democrats spend money on "give away to get votes" political bureaucracies. Trump spent money on sealing our border, bolstering our military, making American energy independent and improving the American economy
Yes, you caught us

Democrats spend money helping We the People. Things like healthcare, education, the needy.

RepublIcans run up deficits giving massive tax cuts to the wealthy and feeding a bloated military that already spends 42 cents out of every military dollar on earth.
Newsflash Sparky. Democrat’s bleeding heart has to be controlled by an adult. We can’t give away “free” healthcare to the world and open our borders, etc. Adults have to make real world practical decisions. You guys act like you are playing a video game to build a new world but have hacked the settings to give you an open pocket book.
A Government of the people, by the people and FOR the people.
Something a great Republican once said
For the American people. Seems as though you globalists have forgotten that little tidbit.
Globalist is the go to word for Trumpist gobemouches.

This thread is absurd, since BOTH political parties generate massive budget deficits every year.
The GOP is substantially worse. George Bush inherited a balanced budget and 8 years later... Kaboooomm. Because of GOP reckless spending.

It has been the same thing under Trump. Reckless GOP spending, and record deficits. Biggest ever in world history.

Obama had big deficits too, but that was due to the GOP great recession, and in Obama's second term they reduced the deficit alot.

Both parties are bad with debt, but the GOP is much much worse, and the facts prove that.

FAKE NEWS.

George Bush and Donald Trump have bankrupt America. Obama's big deficits were mainly due to the GOP great recession.

Very true

Democrats spend money to help Americans in need
Republicans insist on feeding a military industrial complex to defend the world.

Republicans have no credibility on the deficit or financial matters. Once they are in power they blow a huge hole in the deficit and debt and then too boot send this economy spiraling downward. It is a pattern.

Pubs can go to hell with their “deficit hawks”. Pubs are anything but.
Republicans engage in “Starve the Beast”
Slash the wealthy tax base and then complain that we “can’t afford” social programs

Republicans only care about the debt when Democrats are in office and Democrats only care about Debt when Republicans are in office.

This a a law of politics that is reliable as gravity.

Ok.....Who didn’t see this one coming ?

Republicans are preparing to re-embrace their inner deficit hawk after greenlighting big spending bills under President Trump.

GOP senators say they expect to refocus on curbing the nation's debt and reforming entitlement programs starting in 2021, as the Congressional Budget Office estimates that the debt has surpassed the size of the American economy.
The Republican Party is a party of frauds

Both parties build up the military to maintain our world empire. It is the only jobs program both sides agree to! Keeps the D.C. lobbyists, the MIC, the Security State and of course the politicians all happy and well fed.

On deficit spending: I don’t believe the Federal Government need worry about this at all, so long as the two parties agree to lift the artificially created political caps on indebtedness periodically and/or “print money” by letting the Fed and Treasury continue to monetarize debt. Or they can simply not borrow and not tax and issue more federal checks directly as Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) proposes. This is most appropriate and is actually being done now during this COVID-induced recession. A financial crisis can hit hard if the Repubs force a shut down of government by refusing to play along. Weakening of the dollar may occur gradually as at present, or rapidly if the empire collapses on itself, but so far it seems most likely this will be very gradual.

The party that first and most openly embraces MMT on the Federal level will have a big political advantage. But how freely-issued “created money” is to be spent — just like how some now fret about how “collected” federal tax money is spent — this will remain the crucial political fight. I don’t think the working people have much chance of winning this fight, given present consciousness and corporate power.

The Republicans are just holding the D's to the same standards that the D's held for President Trump.

Trump was literally crucified for the corona related budget deficits.

Under Trump, before the virus the debt held stable with relative to the size of economy.

If Biden gets in, we can expect it to blow out as he sells the country to wall street and other special interest, and enacts endless free shit programs for the moochers and the new invaders who are 15,000 a pop just to get started.

Any movement toward austerity is likely to spark fierce backlash from Democrats and progressive activists, who are already on watch for Republicans to embrace spending cuts with President Trump out of the White House.

"They are always concerned about the debt when we're spending money to help people, they never care when we're cutting billionaires and corporations. I've been around Washington long enough to know that Republicans' interest in the debt is intermittent," said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).
As a Conservative, I do call bullshit on Republicans not being more consistent on deficit and spending. They should never be inline or consistent with Democrats who do not give a flying fuck ever about cutting spending. They only “cared” themselves over the last four years because GET TRUMP was the end goal.

First it takes two branches of government to spend. The best combo is a Democratic President and a Republican Congress. That happened with Gingrich and Clinton. Within two months of the Bush Presidency with the Dot com bust we went into a recession, and during that recession was 911 which triggered more spending. During Trump the bulk of that spending was for the coronavirus pandemic and trillions more is waiting to be spent. President can ask for money, Congress is the one that authorizes the spending.

I see no redemption on either side. I would like to see Biden and a Republican congress.

Where does the budget originate......Remember when libs ran as fiscal conservatives during Obama and did nothing.
Show me

I‘ll show you where Trump said he would balance the budget
Nazi Pelousy wouldn't allow it, Dummy.
