After 6 years of watching all the political posturing Obama has done, one would think that common sense would float to the top, like cream does. Obama is like a political chess game. On the threat of signing an executive order on immigration for instance. Only specifically designed to enrage Republicans, to show how mean and nasty Republicans can be when it comes to immigration.

To be clear the Executive Order is just a piece of paper that states that long term illegals cannot be deported. It doesn't give them citizenship or VOTING rights, it's just a temporary stay of being deported. It's Obama's Hail Mary pass to bump up his personal approval ratings-BUT it may backfire with dire disapproval among Democrats. Why you ask? Because millions of moderate Democrats are also looking for jobs, and the last thing they want is a President who insists they compete for jobs with those that entered this country illegally. Also Democrats running for re-election told Obama NOT to sign this executive order before the mid-term recent election cycle. Unemployment is still high, and underemployment is even higher. Now while this executive order may have gotten little attention in an economy that was cooking and employers that were begging for workers that is certainly not the case now.

So what's a smart Republican to do? Ignore it. If Obama signs this executive order, move the Queen into checkmate position by delivering to his desk the Keystone Pipeline bill within 5 minutes of him signing this executive order. If Obama decides he didn't get enough angry remarks, and threats coming out of Republican Party mouths, and decides it's not worth ticking off millions in the democrat party who are looking for jobs and decides not to do an executive order he walks away with egg all over his face, for promising something he didn't deliver on.

Either way Republicans can win this one, and let Obama pave the way to Republican victories in 2016 by using their brains instead of their emotion. In the interim, between now and 2016, Republicans can work on legislation, something that sticks for a comprehensive immigration reform policy, along with every other issue. If they get roped a doped into this they will show that they can't play ball on their own terms.

Well they can try and get SCOTUS to rule if his executive order is Constitutional.

But then again based on his track record, I am going to have to go with NO!

Congress has the power to nullify its effect. This eo is pointless and just hurts the libs. You guys need to see the past the trees in front of you.

No the far left has had zero opposition (Harry Reid Nuke Option) in putting in place far left judges that will up hold any by pass around Congress. That is why Obama is willing to do it..

Not to mention they will use the ACLU (like they always have) to go after anyone that disagrees with the far left..

Why would you want to stop Obama from committing political suicide? This is a NO win situation for him, he is cornered. If you make a tizzy fit over it, you are doing exactly what he wants and expects you to do. The executive order is just a temporary stay from deportation on illegals whom have lived and worked in this country for a long time, and estimates say it covers approximately 3 to 4 million people. It doesn't make them citizens and it doesn't give them voting rights.

Congress will let him do it then bitch slap him by nullifying it and congress will look great in doing it. However, it wont be through courts or impeachment.

Snag is, republicans will react with emotion, the consequence of their unwarranted animosity toward the president, and seek to 'impeach,' paving the way for democratic victories in 2016.

Congress can do what they want, but Obama will veto anything that will over ride his rule..

There is not enough people in the Congress to over ride a Presidential veto, as we all know this would go down party lines.

So the only other ways are to hope that an (R) gets elected and makes and executive nullifying the Obama executive order or to challenge it in court.

Congress can pass what ever they want to, but Obama will most lily veto anything that over rides his rule.

Thus it will do nothing. There is also not enough people to over ride said veto as we all know this would fall down party lines..

You know congress can stop visas without the president, right?

You know congress can stop visas without the president, right?

Actually on the state department can do that and guess who they will follow?

Congress can not do anything without a Presidential signature such as defund or change the law that contradicts his EO. Now they can hold hearings to see why certain laws are not enforced and try and hold those people accountable.

Then again Obama does not need to give Visas out he can give Green Cards and work permits which would be a tougher fight.

We all know that the far left will claim the (R)'s are against children and families for opposing his EO, be expecting that to be the narrative in the far left media.

The real question is who in 2016 will run on supporting such a measure?

The more that stay the more the far left can say they need more funding for their social programs that they will push in 2016.

The question is how many will buy into this?

No, congresses power of the purse overruels any executive action. They can specify it to specifically defund people effected by this executive action. You can write an executive order all you want but without money its pointless. Sorry but you are dead wrong. Have a nice nite now that you can sleep nicely knowing this. :)

Sorry that is incorrect!

Congress has the power to overturn an executive order by passing legislation in conflict with it. Congress can also refuse to provide funding necessary to carry out certain policy measures contained with the order or to legitimize policy mechanisms. In the former, the president retains the power to veto such a decision.

Sorry but as I pointed out the president must sign it in order for it to be effective there is not enough people in Congress to override an Obama vote on this issue.

Thus you are in the wrong!

Agreed (many Republicans, not all) have a habit of acting on their emotions while sitting on their brains. Threats of defunding will go down as bad as shutting down the government did a couple of years ago. These things are exactly what Obama wants and expects them to do.

Ronald Reagan signed an executive order on immigration and he wasn't impeached over Of course, it was done when the economy was cooking and employers were begging for workers. So it passed by with little attention being paid to it.

Judging from the midterm election a couple of weeks ago, and the number of democrats that didn't show up to vote, after the DNC spent 16 million on their get out to vote campaign, tells me that there are millions of Democrats that are weary of Obama's agenda, and no longer support it. And the last thing they're going to want to do, is to compete for jobs with green card holders.

hopefully his own party, seeing that americans DON'T want ANY kind of "amnesty" will chill him out..if he gives in to his hatred of america and white people by ignoring immigration laws, he will bring the dem party down with him...
