The President and Un kept making additional offers after the joint statement was finished. Trump smiled about it at the news conference...it's how he sweetens deals...get more while everybody is happy. And that's why you never do deals when you're happy, horny, or hungry with a slick operator like him. Trading joint drills with the SKs in exchange for Un closing his missile engine works is about as good as it gets. Everybody already knows the unit concepts of invading the north so we lose nothing but the bill for exercises we don't need now.
Un is playing Trump like a fiddle. Every expert on the planet has already stated that a nuclear program of that size will take 10 years to dismantle, and that's only if there is an honest effort to do it. There is no way possible to verify it.
Then lets look at it politically. If the deal falls through, there is no way to spin it other that Trump failed. Full stop.
Then look at it strategically. If Un backs out, or renegs, we go to war with North Korea?
And given the time frame here, Trump won't be around in 10 years, so just like Iraq and Afghanistan, another administration ends up having to deal with another " mission accomplished " asshole to the tune of another $7 trillion and how many American lives?
And then finally we look at it personally. So what, you're making the statement " Donald Trump, master foreign policy negotiator "?
Forgive me if I don't share in the delusion.
Since you're being polite I won't laugh at you or call you names. But you really should think about your negativity....try to find the pony in the room instead of complaining about the horse shit. Kim will be overthrown if he continues on his present path...a colonel will walk up to him and blow his brains out. He's come with hat in hand to Trump..the safety assurances are as much about his own command staff as anything the SKs are apt to throw at him. Watch and learn and admit you should have looked closer at what's happened.
