Republican politicians vote against pay as you go. They apparently like deficit spending.

Right wing sheep - stop believing their lies. They aren't trying to balance the budget. They vote against it.

They are hypocrites and liars.

The Republicans were not about to sign onto legislation that would give the Democrats license to hike taxes across the board on everything that is and isn't nailed down in this country. When you have a 'pay as you go' system without spending roll backs and a mega-trillion dollar budget with no savings forecast for years ahead, that would have been a sure prescription to completely crash the economy.

The title of a bill doesn't always tell even part of the true story, much less all of it.

We can still hope and pray that we vote out enough irresponsible Democrats and RINOs and vote in enough fiscal conservatives in the next election to give us a fighting chance to recover from the current economic insanity.

How does raising taxes and crippling the economy stop deficit spending?

You want to stop deficit spending. Then cut spending.

And yes, there are some Republicans lie about wanting to stop deficit spending. But Id rather vote for someone who promises to lower the deficit then someone who promises to increase it.

Did I already say *yawn*?:eusa_shifty:

Yes you did. With aplomb and authority. And I respect that.

But I still haven't given up hoping that some of these young skulls full of mush will actually get a clue one of these days.

So bite me.

There are some sorry excuses for Republicans out there. I love the Republican brand and the things they traditionally stand for; but man, what a sorry bunch they've become.

What do you think pay as you go is about? It's about cutting spending. The law makes it so congress cannot vote for spending any money unless they can also find a way to pay for it.

No more deficit spending.

There's nothing in the bill about raising taxes.

Why do Republicans feel the need to lie about why their politicians vote no for pay as you go? LOL!!! You throw in raising taxes as if it has anything to do with this.

Face it. Republican Americans either yawn and don't care, or sling lies about the bill to defend their politicians voting no on ending deficit spending.

You mean you'd rather vote for someone who promises to lower the deficit but votes no when it comes right down to it.

You're a liar lover and you'd rather vote for liars.

Like the Democrats?

As far as i'm concerned most Liberals in the Senate said they were going to Fix the Economy.. Hence both Parties have Liars, But! The Problem these days both sides have their Nut saying their own party isn't doing anything wrong.

But I tend to see that more with Liberals than Repubs. Maybe just on this board.. Who knows. :eusa_eh:

I hate to be the one to bring this to your attention, Queen, but all politicians lie. Even the ones that aren't Republicians lie. Did you know that or is this news to you?

Republicans voted against it because it increased the debt. You need to check your sources before repeating dumocrap propaganda.

H. J. Res. 45: Increasing the statutory limit on the public debt

There's nothing in the bill about raising taxes.

So you believe that if Paygo becomes law the Democrats will immediately cut $1.6 trillion out of Obama's proposed budget?

pay as you go is all about raising taxes to match spending. Spending itself isnt cut. How about we just restore the Republic and cut the programs the Constitution never authorized to begin with?

God, you people are so partisian, you can't even determing what's in your own best interest. Pay as you go, doen'st give Democrats the authority to do anything they can't pay for. There are enough republicans and moderate democrats to stop liberals and progressives using the tax code willy nilly.

You guys need to wake up. And I've got to say, it was the scrapping of Pay as you go by the GOP that cleared the way for Dubya's tax cuts and his drug bill; because they didn't have to figure out to pay for them

Think how different it would have been if Dubya had to come up with $350 billion is spending cuts at the same time he gave the rich their tax cut. There would be no deficit. No deficit means that pulling the economy from the brink of disaster would not have been as expensive. And who knows, if they had paid for all of their great ideas, the economy may not have run off the cliff at all!!

Yep cut off all federal spending for State and local prisons and jails.

Cut off all federal education spending.

Federal highway spending.

Fire, police, Air traffic controlers and TSA.

Federal education subsidies.

FDA, Health research, Vaccinations, We did n't need that pesky Polio vaccine anyway.

This isn't about denying a party is doing something wrong. This is about the party claiming they want to cut deficit spending, then voting no to do so.

Democrats say they are going to fix the economy so they have a health care bill that will cover more people and lower government spending on health care. Republicans block the bill from passing.

Dems passed the stimulus that saved our country from plummeting into a great depression.

Dems are working on a jobs bill. Repubs will probably block it as they've blocked everything else.

Blame the dems for that, right?

Typical repub bullshit.

No, pay as you go is about ending deficit spending.

Congress cannot spend money without paying for it, like the way it was done during the Clinton admin. Bush ended that policy and spent wildly on 2 wars, medicare drug entitlement and tax cuts for the rich. That's why we have an 11 trillion dollar debt. It was 5 trillion when Bush took office.

The tax cuts for the rich will expire this year and go back to what it was under Clinton. That will help cut the deficit.

The Iraq war will end. That will help cut the deficit.

Don't vote Republican unless you want to end pay as you go.

If you like deficit spending, vote Republican.
