LOL! Too funny. This Gov. resisted with all her might the passage of this initiative. Now here she is, hands out, mouth open..praising it!

Republican Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa attended the groundbreaking event at the site of a new 60,000 sq. ft. indoor sports complex in the town of Ottumwa. She said the complex — which will include three full size basketball courts, turf soccer and football fields and batting cages — is coming “with the help of a Destination Iowa Grant!”
Destination Iowa Grants are federally funded awards made available through the American Rescue Plan Act, which President Joe Biden signed into law and Reynolds attacked during her re-election campaign in 2021. The Act was the biggest legislative win in the first year of Biden’s administration.
Reynolds referred to the act as a “blue state bailout” and wrote on Twitter: “I stood alongside 21 other Republican Governors to OPPOSE President Biden’s plan to use YOUR taxpayer dollars to bail out blue states like CA, NY, and IL.”
According to data from the Rockefeller Institute of Government, the state of Iowa “receives more from the federal government than it sends to Washington, D.C., meaning Iowans are not actually bailing out anyone.”
Note: None of the 21 other Republican Governors — including those who opposed Biden’s plan –refused the aid.

According to the Destination Iowa Grant website, as of June 2023, $480,265,783 in total investment has been “activated” in the Hawkeye State. Iowa was granted $2.7 billion from the American Rescue Plan Act.

You're consistently horrible at starting threads.

I didn't even read it once I saw yet another mess like that.

This is pretty much par for the course with republicans .. It they weren't lying they wouldn't have anything to talk about.

As usual, teabaggers celebrate the rewards of something they voted against.
Their dear leader will try to take credit for it.
They did not vote against. They voted against grifter Joe and the thieving Progs. We do not live in 1950, 1850 or any other time. Infrastructure is important. What we spend it on is the crux of everything. Our roads and bridges are the lifeline of our nation. At the time it was estimated to cost over 600 billion dollars to repair and renovate all of it. Progs passed only 110 billion dollars of that. A lot of pork in that infrastructure legislation. And oh yeah, Eisenhower started the interstate highways and Reagan did a massive renovation of roads and bridges. So, what was this? 1.2 trillion dollars for infrastructure! You can almost smell the waste. Like Joe wearing his depends for a few hours. A growing number of people are at the islands now in their oceanfront homes in the Conga line singing Tequila!

Publicly fight and bash good bills for their citizens, vote against them, but then turn up at the ribbon cutting to take the praise when they are passed w/o their help.

This is standard operating procedure for Republicans.

I could not care less about anyone taking credit for anything. All I am saying there is waste. And the roads and bridges need to be redone. We left enough equipment in Afghanistan to pay for the wall easily.
