The Republicans spent the last four years fighting ACA. Now that they're in charge, will they really let go of all that power?

Schumer won't let the GOP repeal or replace anything.

Who says you have to repeal or replace anything? Both the Democrats who passed the original ACA mandates can continue paying taxes and being under those terms, and the Republicans who proposed a version without mandates can be under that. Make all these plans Optional so they are constitutionally equal choices. Let taxpayers opt into one or the other if they want access to federal programs under those terms: choosing either federal mandates and exchanges that can be developed into single payer, possibly by reforming prisons into medical programs to redirect resources toward universal care, or free market health care and focus on investing in charity hospitals, medical education and internships, and VA reforms.
