Reed's family in serious car accident

Don't think I could do that.

I was thinking the same thing....He returned??

Who knows if the article is accurate though.

The night my mom had a heart attack my dad came home, some men can't handle these situations. If he did return I am guessing it wasn't because he didn't care, it was probably because he didn't know what to do with himself.
My thoughts are with him and his family, and hopefully they make a fast recovery.

I hear ya...You're right. I didn't mean to say it meant he didn't care, even if he did return.

The way the writer worded it made me wonder though because I bet he didn't return yet.

Upon receiving word of the accident around 4:15 p.m., Reid left a closed-door health-care meeting for the hospital, returning to the capitol later to continue.

You know.....saw kinda the same thing happen with my Grandfather when my Grandmother died. He'd come in at his self designated times, sit with her for an hour, and then go back to the house and visit with friends and family.

He knew it was out of his hands, and he had to trust the doctors. Also, he found it better to be somewhere with someone he could talk to, that could talk back, rather than sitting at her bedside, feeling bad.

On the morning she died? They called him in early and he went. I got the call at 6:30 am that my Grandmother was going quick. Almost made it in to the hospital on time, but the car gave out and I had to wait for gas (I was on leave......not my car).

I understand why Reid did what he did.

The accident was three hours ago.

His wife and daughter are currently fully medicated and sleeping I'm sure.

I think it is hard for some men, and it is hard for them to handle their emotions. While the women are the ones who have to be in control, and then loose it later. And either way is not wrong.
Pain is a terrible thing, and we all deal with it in our own way.

Like I said......better to have something occupy your mind with complex tasks than to sit there in pity and misery, wondering if you could have done anything to prevent it.

Pretty much!
I know if my child was in a serious car accident, I would have to stay busy so I didn't go insane.

My wife says I have 2 emotions.

Asshole and comedian.

I say that those aren't emotions, those are states of being. She says "smartass".

So I guess I have 3 then.

Just heard it was a semi tractor trailer that rear ended them. The driver has been charged with reckless driving.

I'd say... My Sister was Killed in the 80's from a Collision like that... Truck into her Car... Her Car Exploded...

The Criminal in the Truck was given House Arrest...

Later a Whoring Charge put her in Prison.

:)

peace...

Wow. I wouldnt wish that on the most horrible person in the world, let alone Senator Reid and His family. I hope the family recovers.

Odd that there isnt more news coverage...

I'm not sure how much of a recovery there is for a 69 year old woman with a broken back and neck.
