In other words, was the US postal office created to make money or to provide a service to the American citizens?

it was created to deliver Americas mail...but it sells products and delivers things for a price meaning its a business.....why charge for something if you are going to lose money while doing it?...what business does that?...why tell them you cant make a profit even though it means you will be losing money every year because you cant make a profit?.....any money the PO makes they have to spend that profit and try and break even or congress takes it .. every PMG we have had from the private sector has commented on the "break even" bullshit and has said they must be able to make a profit to cover their expenses, otherwise if you are in the red every year its a failed business....which it is....

They also are being misused by politicians: the USPS now does "Last Mile" delivery for many other delivery services...all of which DO make a profit, and I'm sure the politicians that made those deals happen invested heavily in their stocks and bonds. The USPS checkbook is also very suspiciously under political control, so for all we know, the money that service does make gets spent on other projects (like electric vehicles to the tune of over $1 million each LOL). No accountability, and they don't have to disclose their books the same as a public company does.

Either way...corruption abounds.
