Red is reserved for Mods rule?

Can't use red here... its been a rule for a long time... they should have told you to just change the color IMO...
Yes, it has been a rule but rarely enforced. There is another color next to the red and it can look like red, and that is the one I have used. It's a rust orange'reddish color but NOT red.

Here, you see what I mean. #D14841
Here is the red. #B8312F

Is there any truth to the old wives tale, that the screws in joint simply couldn't make the cut for the police and fire departments?

Not red.
Nah, many used VDOC as a stepping stone to get jobs at the larger and more well paying PDs like Fairfax Co. PD and the like.

It sure worked out well for me getting a job at DuPont. I did not even have go through the rather extensive hiring process they put others through.

I just applied, was interviewed, then was given a start date.

I think we need to put it to the test.

I have sometimes used a red color for emphasis.

To my knowledge, it hasn’t caused any Mod consternation.

Test: this sentence is in red (one of the red colors, anyway) and in bold.

Whenever a correctional officer gets busted for going bad, they make a point of saying that other places wouldn't have him. Which makes sense for a bad egg.

They aren't much to them these days.....Constant understaffing.....The female officers are the worse.

Back when I worked for VDOC (road camps) someone damn near had to die before there was an opening unless they put another gang out on the road or the like.

Actually, now that I'm reminded, I did get thrown in the hole a second time a couple of years later for like two days.

For the same thing, though. Contempt of maude.

I think both were just cases which could be compared to when the coppers whack a dolt in the nawgin with their stick and hurry up and throw the loudest dissenter in the back of the van real fast before anyone else gets the courage to dissent.

But it's just whatevs. I'm just naturally reminded of these tyrannical injustices partaken by The Man whenever threads like these come up.

I was a Mod ages and ages ago and there was NO RULE that posters could not use red.

The rule was that MODS were just like any other poster here at the site when responding to posts or starting new threads in BLACK ink....call them names if allowed in the thread zone, disagree with their posts front wards and backwards at your desire....they are just everyday users.

BUT when a MOD responds or posts in RED INK, they are being MODS, and moderating.

It was a way for Mods to continue to have fun and give their comments and be the poster they were before they were appointed and accepted the MOD position, and still be a MOD, when posting in Red.

So, if posters saw the MOD posting in Red, it meant the MOD was in their MOD role.

That is exactly right. Which makes the red color ban pointless. If members aren't allowed to use red, it should be stated in the rules or the two red colors should be locked out.

Either way, the point to the red is so you know it is a mod speaking as a mod making a mod statement, if a non-mod ordinary member uses red, for a few words or whatever in a sentence, no one is going to mistake that for a mod comment.

Gee whizz, how is it they can be in their mod role and not use red?
In their MOD SQUAD mode, they use Red Ink for their MOD Instructions....

Otherwise, if a Moderator is starting a thread, or responding to posts in BLACK ink, they are just like you or me.

It used to be, MODERATOR indication was written under our names over to the left....not certain now?

But on the front page of USMB, if you scroll down... a link for Moderators for the site is there, and shows what Moderators are on site. It says STAFF online... Click on it to see all other moderators (staff).

Mods have fun?

They should not use black ink, when doing any moderating comments.
It's done all the time. Why should I believe you anyways, you already established the fact that you'll lie to win an argument.
