Received invitation to my 50 year high school reunion

Same with me.
When went to my 40th everyone else looked soo old.

Someone I went to HS with would probably recognize me.
But damn…..They got OLD

Much of it is back in the 70s, the guys had shoulder length hair and now are bald
The girls put on 50 lbs

I had the greatest natural rock star fro anyone had ever seen. It was Rodger Daltrey good. Now I'm heavier, shaved bald, big bushy beard, 37 years older and somehow they recognize me. How do people do that?

The eyes

That makes sense. I used to have a great deal of trouble looking people directly in the eyes. Maybe that's why they look unfamiliar to me.
Better than them remembering you by the smell

This is all so sad!
Here, we graduated with the kids that we grew up playing with at the pool, on the river, in church...and have known all our lives. We are all pretty much family in this little Mayberry.
So, we have an all class reunion every 5 years and we love it. The individual classes get together for luncheons and then we all party in the streets for the rest of the weekend. It's so good to see the ones that have moved away, and party with the ones we see every day. And we all feel blessed to come from this little friendly town. So fun...

I was a fascinating enigma apparently. I didn't study. I half-assed my homework. I hung out with the drop-outs and outlaws all hours of the night and still made better grades than most of them.

My HS was 1/2 rich Jewish kids 😝😝

Mine was a dropout factory. The local seafood industry lured them out of school and on to the water at an astounding rate. My class started out in first grade with nearly 200 kids and graduated 45.

I didn't recognize more than half of the people at my last reunion because they'd physically changed soo much.
Thankfully, the event organizers had name tags for people to wear with their High School yearbook picture on it.
If you looked at a person in the face and not know who they were?
Then just look down at their name tag and picture and you'd immediately remember them.

Most depressing thread ever 😞😞😩😩😩

My 40th would be next year.
Never went to any of them.
Graduating class was over 800 kids.

I've NEVER received an invite for any of my class reunions.

Don't matter..............

I promised myself I'd never go to one unless I could show up in a Lambourghini, with a super model on my arm.

Yeah......that ain't never gonna happen. ROFL

15th post
mine was last year...i wasnt even invited..there is a reason i still have nightmares about high school
How could you not receive an invitation? If you scored a diploma like everyone else did, your name should've been in there. I was never the most popular person at my school, but I still got the proper heads up concerning the reunion gatherings.

God bless you always!!!

High school was awesome. College was awesome. I would go to a reunion if they would hold it during the winter after deer and duck season. They hold those during fishing and golf season. I suppose if they added fishing and golf to the reunion I would be more likely to show up. Most the people I ran with in high school show up on my charter boat a couple times a summer. My core four either have campers or condos where I am and I see them pretty much weekly. I go to the class reunion where I went elementary school. They have a golf outing with it. Never did go to high school there but stayed in contact with quite a few of those people. My family still owns some farms in that county so I have had reasons to be there over the years. A reunion happens next year not 50 but one of the mile stone reunions. Unless where I went to high school adds golf it will be where I went to elementary.

easy the popular kids then....are still in Fayetteville and i left at 18...high school was turbulent years ...vietnam war....racial riots...you know those wonderful events that kept life interesting...the only reason i know about the reunions is that my oldest childhood friend (a ******* trumper) keeps me updated ...there are 3 of us who keep barely in touch...barb wanted to go and wanted to drive down from va beach and pick us up....sam in fayetteville and me in wnc...without hesitation both sam and i said no thanks...and yes i received a high school education with degree at pine forest high class of 71

i left and never looked back in the rear view mirror
