Events or experiences that God gives to people to show that something important in His work has happened or will soon happen. In the latter days, many signs for the Second Coming of the Savior have been prophesied. These signals allow faithful people to recognize God’s plan, be warned, and prepare.

• The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, Isa. 2:2–3.
• The Lord shall lift an ensign and gather Israel, Isa. 5:26 (2 Ne. 15:26–30).
• The sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not cause her light to shine, Isa. 13:10 (Joel 3:15; D&C 29:14).
• Men shall transgress the law and break the everlasting covenant, Isa. 24:5.
• The Nephites shall speak as a voice from the dust, Isa. 29:4 (2 Ne. 27).
• Israel shall be gathered with power, Isa. 49:22–23 (1 Ne. 21:22–23; 3 Ne. 20–21).
• God shall set up a kingdom which shall not be destroyed, Dan. 2:44 (D&C 65:2).
• War, dreams, and visions shall precede the Second Coming, Joel 2.
• All nations will gather against Jerusalem to battle, Zech. 14:2 (Ezek. 38–39).
• The day cometh that shall burn as an oven, Mal. 4:1 (3 Ne. 25:1; D&C 133:64; JS—H 1:37).
• Great calamities shall precede the Second Coming, Matt. 24 (JS—M 1).
• Paul described apostasy and perilous times of the last days, 2 Tim. 3–4.
• Two prophets will be slain and resurrected in Jerusalem, Rev. 11 (D&C 77:15).
• The gospel shall be restored in the last days by angelic ministry, Rev. 14:6–7 (D&C 13; 27; 110:11–16; 128:8–24).
• Babylon will be established and fall, Rev. 17–18.

Yes, I mistakenly wrote olive tree. I addressed that earlier. But the parable of the fig tree is in reference to the signs of the times that precede the second coming of Jesus Christ. Just as you see the fig leaves come and know that summer is nigh, so too if you see the signs of the times fulfilled, you will know that the second coming of Jesus is nigh also.

I am not a Jehovah Witness so I do not know anything about their adoption of a Schofield heresy. Ask a JW.

These verses tell us that Cyrus did gain favor from the Lord but looking back in history we clearly can see that war did not come to an end after Cyrus and war is still going on today. It is the Lord that is being spoken of in Isaiah 2:4 and he will bring an end to war during his millennial reign.

The nations conquered by Cyrus, according to Xenophon, were “the Syrians, Assyrians, Arabians, Cappadocians, the Phrygians, Lydians, Carians, Phœnicians, Babylonians.

He also reigned over the Bactrians, Indians, Cilicians, the Sacæ, Paphlagones, and Mariandyni.”

All these kingdoms he acknowledges, in his decree for the restoration of the Jews, to have been given him by Jehovah, the God of heaven, Ezra 1:2. And I will loose the loins of kings — I will weaken them, and render them unprepared and unable to oppose Cyrus.

What Untermyer declared war on was Naziism. So what was the heresy?

The Scofield heresy based on the ideas of John Nelson Darby 1830.

You should take time to read about king Cyrus of Persia . You'd understand Isaiah and why Cyrus was considered an anointed messiah.

The greatest evidence for the return of Jesus Christ is that he taught that he would come again. Jesus, in association with his return, taught that we could know when his return was upon us by the signs of the times. He likened his return to an olive tree and when you see it start to put forth leaves then you know that summer is nigh.

Matthew 24:32-33
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

When we see the fulfillment of the prophesies and signs of the times, then we can know that the time is near. Two great signs that we are told in scripture are that there will be two great prophets who will prophesy in Jerusalem for 3.5 years just prior to the coming of the Lord. The grand sign is that Jerusalem will again be under siege just before Jesus comes and sets his foot upon the Mount of Olives. When those two things occur, you may not have much time to prepare. So what are the other signs in the scriptures that will let us know that the time is drawing near?

There is no rapture. Read 2 Thessalonians for yourself. Look at the whole chapter and context. The rapture is from Darby in 1830.
