Ravens Steelers game for playoff birth

Pittsburgh is looking to put together a plan.

Steelers won that one on pure luck alone. Truth be told, both Pittsburgh and Baltimore both threw this game away easily deserving to have lost the game 3X over.
  1. After getting ahead in the 3rd quarter and finally beginning to play, they left Flowers beat them deep in the back field again in a duplicate of the exact same play that put them in the lead beating Pittsburgh in the 1st quarter!
  2. The only reason why Pittsburgh ever pulled ahead to lead in the 4th was because the Ravens defender's foot was on a white line and his rounded plastic cleats slipped on the paint leaving the Pittsburgh WR wide open to make a TD.
  3. But then Pittsburgh's kicker, one of the best in the league who hasn't missed an extra point from 27 yards in YEARS, sliced his kick hard right, just when they needed the points the most.
  4. Ravens marched right down the field to kick a FG in the final seconds to beat Pittsburgh by a point, and the only reason why Pittsburgh won was because the bum rookie they hired JUST FOR SUCH A CRITICAL SITUATION, sliced hard right himself and missed the easy 44 yard FG.
The story is that before the game, someone had a catholic priest sprinkle holy water in the end zone where Baltimore missed their FG.

Pittsburgh lucks through a win by the skin of their teeth. So a week from Monday (the 12th), Pittsburgh hosts #5 seed Houston Texans for the playoffs and Pittsburgh will have their #1 WR DK Metcalf back. But the Texans also have what might probably be the best defense in the NFL. If Pittsburgh plays as lousy as they did tonight, Houston will annihilate them.

lucky maybe but both kickers were too amped up, boswell can golf a ball from 30 yards, he just kicked it too damn hard with too much spin, same with the ravens kicker

boswell nails that 98% of the time, now the ravens need a TD, down at the the 20 it's one shot for a pass to win
super risky to get 20 yards on the ground unless perfect blocks

block, deflection, bad pass, anything that does not draw a flag steelers win by default

DK back will be huge but yes, houston has better record on paper and way better plus minus so this one will be tough

helps it at home, guess we will find out next week

No one is jamming headphone communications.

That was crazy. Rodgers had TWO football helmets where the communication died in both of them that he used up all of their 2nd half TOs to rectify the issue. After the game, Rodgers said that at that point in the game on that part of the field, they didn't have much for him to run without hearing play calls from the offensive coach.

I'm still a bit in shock that Pittsburgh won the game.
  1. First Pittsburgh got the lead with just 3 minutes left to play. No way they can lose now.
  2. But then they miss the extra point leaving them just 2 points ahead.
  3. Now all Baltimore need do is kick a FG with 1.5 minutes left.
  4. Then Baltimore marches right down the field into FG range with many seconds left which they ran down to 2. No way the Ravens can lose now, except if somehow, they blow the play, Pittsburgh steals the ball or Balt. somehow misses it. All Baltimore has to do is kick a 40 yard FG, and they win the division. Pittsburgh goes home.
  5. Baltimore actually missed their FG.
Wow.

With two helmets doing the same thing, I'd look at the other end of the communications, you know?

whoever they use, think about switching if it's just a mechanical issue

I notice they don't use BOSE headsets but switched to sony, hmm....

a for the kickers, maybe the holder was at fault both times.....bad toss, bad hold, bad kick

I'd rather have the Sony sets.

You knows, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I noted that:
  1. There must have been half a dozen times that Balt. should have been called for PI but the refs refused to call it, almost like they were trying to give Balt an unfair advantage to get into the playoffs.
  2. On one drive, Balt's entire D line was over the scrimmage line, but the one guy finally got called for illegal formation.
  3. It does seem odd that both headsets went out. Normally, I'd blame the batteries, is it possible they don't put fresh batteries in before each game? Other than that, what else could it be but a dead zone or some kind of interference, either way, you'd think Pittsburgh would have that nailed down in their own stadium!

Toob, look at the wind gust after the kick.

Just kidding....😆

Toob, look at the wind gust after the kick.

Wind was not a factor. Both teams were freely throwing deep high balls all night long. Not once did I see or hear anyone mention the wind.

The balls just took a hard slice to the right. Shit happens.

now that I think of it, the long snapper, they can't throw a spiral, they are tossing the ball 10 yards through their legs basically blind and ready to block, the place holder needs to catch this fluttering ball, place it, turn it at tilt so the kicker can do his job

this is a 3 part project, any breakdown and this fails

when you saw like earlier a 57 kick more than half field by boswell it looks easy but it's not, all 3 need to be timed just right

that is some major probability for failure

Hilarious all the Trumpers are screeching about the game being fixed.

I watched a great game and enjoyed it very much, sorry your delusions got the better of you.

Kicking in Pittsburgh is notoriously difficult. The wind swirls at the end zones.

Where did you get the idea that the long snapper doesn’t spin the ball?

When a game is this close, neither team can claim they got robbed. The Ravens didn't win; simple as that.
