No, but the US is choosing a path forward that's hugely at odds with the rest of the modern and free world.

Yes, at the rest of the modern and free world is on the wrong path, as they have been for decades. Unfortunately, many in the US have been brainwashed to believe that their way is better, despite quite a bit of evidence to the contrary. In sport terms, the US has been the defending Super Bowl champion for decades and yet some feel it makes sense to change our ways and more closely emulate those teams that have never been able to compete with us. Pretty darn stupid really.
