I feel very bad for the innocent people of Syria; caught in between the waring factions.
First of all, i believe ISIS must go. It's a primitive elitist authoritarian org that's an insult to human freedom & dignity.

If Obama & Putin can cooperate to rid ISIS, that would be expedient. However, national politics makes that unreasonable. Putin supports Assad to maintain the Russian fleet in Syria, just like his need to rape Ukraine for its resources & geography. He cares little for the people.

If Assad did not run a self-serving authoritarian government, I'd have some sympathy for him. However,
initially seen by the domestic & international community as a potential reformer, that dream ceased when Assad ordered mass crackdowns and military sieges on Arab Spring protesters, leading to the civil war. The US, Canada, EU, and most Arab nations called for Assad's resignation. During the Syrian Civil War, Assad was personally implicated in war crimes by the UN and was indicted for the greatest responsibility in war crimes for prosecution by the International Criminal Court. As of January 2015, it was reported that 200,000 political prisoners were in jail in Syria for opposing the Assad regime.

I wish Putin stops supporting such authoritarianism, but that would go against his own fascist disposition.

That West has also imposed its propaganda wall on Syria and also Ukraine. Truth is not allowed to reach us. This is why you think of the Syrian government as you currently do. "Arab Spring protestors" rampaged around and beheaded security staff and many of them were armed, leaving the government no choice. "Protestors" in Ukraine were Nazis. The worst Nazi battalions, part of the National Guard, are trained by the US in Ukraine. The Nazis and Islamists enjoying western support are even more dangerous and in Ukraine they have found together, raping and murdering, even beheading people in the name of democracy.

a close friend of ours-----took himself and his grown daughters
to Ukraine recently-----for the purpose of checking out family
graves-------none of that which captain blei claims is happening
