I have to agree with the OP, Kiev was never the real objective but it tied down Ukraine's .mil for more meaningful Russian actions in the east/south.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure that if Kiev fell in a week as the west predicted that would have been fine too but it was diversionary first and foremost.

Evidently the MSN can't read a situation map. It's easy to see what is coming. I believe the western .mil leaders are seeing it too and that is why additional weaponry is being slow-walked.

Ukraine is also finding it difficult to reinforce their floundering positions in the east/south.....It's just a matter of time/will till Putin takes and secures the buffer he wants east of the Dnieper River.

That is a bad idea. The US should prevent a nuclear war, not start it.

Previously, I didn't believe that Putin could 'push a button'. But now, after his military adventure in Ukraine, I expect from this schizo everything.
