Doubtful. Putin is just reverting to the form of his youth. Back in the "good old days", the KGB regularly arrested generals who failed. It wasn't uncommon for them to be shot or sent to Gulags. Putin isn't a patient man, especially when his people cause HIM to look foolish.
I doubt we'll be hearing anything more from these two though Putin may create an entire narrative around being fed false information by them in an effort to "humiliate Russia".
