Despite a global oil glut that has dropped the price of fuel @ the pump somewhat in our USA(Socialist Republic of Washington State 3rd highest fuel prices in our USA);

rising inflation due to several situations has driven the cost of food purchases ever higher, unfortunately. Believe me it's not that the farmers are pulling a Pelosi & cashing in big time as can be seen below;

1) Inflation.

2) Cost of fertilizer.

3) Purchase price/maintenance price of machinery/equipment.

Both farmers & the farm implement engineers do our best to keep our fellow Americans fed @ as an affordable price as we can get it to them. As an example of the farming industry attempting to keep the cost of crops affordable as possible is a creation that our farm implement engineers created to keep field laborer costs down;

Farmers are often the target for accusations of greed for some folks think we are making a fortune & that's WHY food prices keep rising. The reality of the situation can be seen in the link below, which well illustrates a typical 60/80 acre farm in my area;

Its drought driven as well. Whether you eat moo moo or whole grains, you are going to see inflation.
