And the media/social media will report it as MAGA rams peaceful protesters or some such.

I guarantee you if I inadvertently found myself surrounded by a militant angry mob or I feel threatened in any way, and they don't get out of my way, somebody will get run over. I'm not about to allow myself to be pulled out of my vehicle, beaten or worse.

Running from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s, an excellent television series L.A. Law dealt with a lot of social attitudes from that time and did it with a lot of insight and honesty.

A husband/wife team lawyers in the firm, Jill and Stuart, were the leftist do gooders. (The actors were also husband/wife in real life but I digress.)

In one episode Jill took on a project to help a homeless woman. With extreme effort she managed to obtain housing for the woman and an easy job she could do for a steady income. She was rewarded by an angry tirade from the woman who wanted neither the housing or the job. She wanted money. Nothing else. It was an eye opener for Jill.

In another episode, Stuart inadvertently found himself surrounded by Rodney King rioters. They stopped his car, dragged him out of it and severely beat him putting him in the hospital. As he had been a strong defender of Rodney King, it was an eye opener for him.

News flash to rioters. I will do everything I can to avoid you, but if I inadvertently am surrounded by you, I will drive on. If you are in my way I will run over you.

You missed the point. The point is, if you are part of a mob threatening a driver and the driver feels his/her life is in danger and the threatened driver strikes a protestor during the escape, who's really at fault here? What else do you expect to happen when you contrive to intimidate drivers and the drivers react accordingly to that intimidation?

I've said many times in many discussions here during the riots in the recent past that mobs are dangerous, fickle and unpredictable animals. Another unpredictable animal is the one who feels cornered. That's how many of these motorists feel when an angry mob surrounds and beats on their vehicle.

The woman who got run over made a choice and it was a colossally stupid one. She chose to try to intimidate and stop a motorist who had one thing that would that was certain to help him effect an escape from the threat unharmed: his vehicle.

That's just the way the law goes. It doesn't negate the fact that trying to stop his car was a stupid goddamn thing to do and if she hadn't, it wouldn't have happened.

I just can't believe these a-holes get in front of cars blocking them, beating on them, then are surprised when the driver flees.
A word to the wise: don't get in front of my car because I won't stop for protesters blocking traffic.
Frankly I'm disappointed that it has taken this long for people to get fed up with these protesters.
