In my view, the primary purpose of government - the reason we actually need it - is conflict resolution. We have government so we can live together without fighting all the time. Most of the other excuses for government are just politicians selling their "services".

What should be my man. We never have a good faith discussion on what the Fed should actually fund.
 
In my view, the primary purpose of government - the reason we actually need it - is conflict resolution. We have government so we can live together without fighting all the time. Most of the other excuses for government are just politicians selling their "services".
So federal courts for issues between states or can you clarify. Again this about The Fed not state.

Not sure what you're asking. Resolving conflicts between states would be an important function of the federal government.

The quote you offered certainly didn't say that.
Government exists to protect our rights; protection of our rights includes some problem resolution,
Protecting our rights IS conflict resolution. That's the only time our rights are at risk.

In any case, I made a statement about what I consider the primary purpose of government. I wasn't quoting the Constitution.

The Constitution clearly outlines the duties and responsibilities of the Federal government.

It'd be awesome if it were pared down to that role.

It would be. But the Court has interpreted it in such a way that any meaningful limits on federal power are null and void. (see: "Welfare clause")
