America has a huge manufacturing labor shortage—and its education system is nowhere close to plugging the gap

Professional Services are better paying jobs than manufacturing and it is what US is actually good at.... US might run a lot of Trade deficits in Goods. They run surpluses in Professional services

You had 90000 factories moved out of the U.S and they were all fully funded.

Get rid of the 100M on welfare and drive people back to dignity and work. The outsourcing destroyed the Western world and the overlords want it this way, they want a dependent population who rely on their rulers in order to eat rather than dignity of work and self sufficience.

Robotics are the actual jobs that we need. We need STEM classes in school to get on steroids and produce students that understand these systems.

The Department of Education has been laser focused on DEI and not core curriculum. So we have currently every high school girl perfectly fluent and knowledgeable about how to post her butt on OnlyFans for $$ but not how to even start to program a ladder logic controller for a production line. There's a problem with that!

We CAN get this resolved. It's a matter of willpower. The USA has done these massive shifts in focus before....this is not new stuff for the USA.

We need ships! We need diesel mechanics and boat electrics and electronics taught again. We need sheet metal, cabinetry, tool and die making, plumbing, and skilled trades taught in schools again.

These aren't dumb skills, they involve all sorts of chemistry, metallurgy, math and sciences as well as communication skills.

Art classes should be last on the list....sports should teach "team building" and working together and not how to secure franchise rights to your name.

Well, that's total BS.....Try getting a job at a DuPont plant. Hell even at the plant I used to work at (DuPont sold it to Axalta) someone damn near needs to die before there's an opening unless it's expansion related.

It's the service economy warehouses that can't keep employees......Amazon is the worst offender.

Inflation, high interest rates and supply chain disruptions have created uncertainty throughout the economy, but whatever the short-term outlook, one constant is clear: Finding workers will remain a challenge.

“We hear from businesses across every state and every industry that they cannot find the workers that they need,” said Stephanie Ferguson, director of Global Employment Policy & Special Initiatives for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “We have a shrinking workforce. Our largest generation, the baby boomers, are all reaching retirement age; all of them will be at retirement age by 2030. At the same time, we have a lowering birth rate. Statistics available from organizations like the Chamber and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), among others, show that the labor pool is just not deep enough — especially in light of workforce shifts set in motion by the COVID-19 pandemic. If every unemployed person in the country found a job, we would still have 2 Million Open jobs.” ...."

I used to work for the company, they don't spend money like that...

Now look at the employment

4,000, that is small by manufacturing levels...

I would say that this is going to be mainly Manufacturing and do the same as there plant in Austria...

Reality only 4% of the cost pf a drug (on average) is in manufacturing...

The R & D jobs are usually grab good local talent... Every company does that, recruit the educated kids, they are the valuable ones...

This is opportunistic and would have been announced later..
