presidents have brought stuff home from foreign trips since they’ve been making foreign trips.

Now...I’m not saying Trump’s crew trashing all of the stuff they gave us (if that really happened) is the wrong move. It makes sense. Doing it before you left China nad having it get out was pretty stupid..but whatever. Like I said, it makes sense. But there is no policy (formal or informal) that dictates trashing everything.
