As indicated in less containers coming into the ports, companies have simply not ordered inventory, and 30% is still going to force some producers to seek alternative production. That will take time.

The reality is, there will be no increase in high-paying manufacturing jobs. Many of those are in industries that actually run a trade surplus, and unless we beat the dollar to death, devalue our currency, companies in those industries are going to lose market share to foreign competitors.

There will be an increase in low paying manufacturing, textiles, hosiery comes to mind, average wage, $16.50 an hour. Benefits suck. Guess who works those jobs? Suffice it to say, there have been some raids by ICE.

Walmart is the like the canary in the coal mine. Sure, they are big, but they are supply chain management Gods. They run lean and mean, inventory turn over rates that are absolutely off the damn chain. So they are the first to show any shortages.
