Prices going up because of Trump tariffs

I was wrong, but you criticize Trump no matter what.
No, I am surprised in that it looks like he got a deal with China, might get a deal with Iran, and I don't understand why accepting the plane from Qatar is wrong. And Boeing is getting a heck of a deal with Qatar, all this month.

My problem in character he certainly was not McCain and not even Biden.

Both parties are putting out the wrong type of person.

Thank you for the apology.

85% of Walmart goods do not come from China and the vast majority of it comes from the USA. About 10 years ago they made a commitment to buy a trillion in American products and have lived up to that.
So then why would tariffs be a problem?

Walmart is raising its prices anyway.

99% of our shoes are most of our cheap clothing is made in Asia.

Tariff - economic inflation

A deal where prices still go up 30%?

Actually, the PPI was lower than expected, enough to get people to start crying for rate cuts, JUST LIKE TRUMPY HAS BEEN TELLING POWELL FOR MONTHS. Will Democrats ever learn? History says no.
Trump wanted lower interest rates because he wants to be more competitive with exports. However it'd lead to higher inflation.

After complaining about high inflation during the election, he's done EVERYTHING he can to increase inflation. Luckily he's not in charge of interest rates or the US (especially the poorer people) would be more fucked than they are now.

Yep, hits the poor the hardest.

They will end up either spending more of their money just on basic items, or will be able to buy less basic items.

So then why would tariffs be a problem?
You would have to ask the guy who made the statement but I am guessing it will impact their third party sales through the site more so than Walmart save at maybe Christmas time.

The inflation rate took a sharp turn downward and has been dropping like a lead balloon since Trump took office
Do you have any empirical data to support your belief?

Tariffs are about to drive up prices for the American consumer.

Volley after volley of tariffs — and at times on-again, off-again trade actions — have put companies around the world on edge. And a handful of major retailers have already raised prices across the U.S., or warned of future hikes.
Trump has slapped new import taxes on nearly all of America's trading partners and a range of sector-specific goods in recent months — all while some targeted countries, notably China, have responded with their own retaliatory duties. While many of the steepest tariffs have since been paused or reduced, scores of other remaining levies have piled up on businesses.
... That's because companies that buy products made abroad pay the tariffs imposed on them — and, as a result, face higher costs that are typically passed on to consumers. Trump has argued that his new duties will bring manufacturing and money back to the U.S. But since so much of what we buy today relies on a global supply chain, economists have long-warned that such sweeping tariffs will mean more expensive prices from the grocery aisle to the auto repair shop.

You are calling for 10 to 15% core inflation? Wanna bet?

Sure, a few items may be more expensive, but core inflation is not going to be anywhere near that.
I said we will be paying 10 to 15% for Christmas.

Core inflation may be up to 5% by then.

You get cute, I make you look stupid.
