And my Catholic uncle who is now a retired priest had an extra invation for a seminar by W. Richard Deming in1988 and he paid for my air ticket , expenses to go to the seminar (because he knew I was an ultimate fan of his and studied the crap out of Statistical process control)
Does that now make me an expert at Quality control?

I single handedly at the age of just 18 to 26 years old changed that small gear manufacturing company from making crap products to implement Q.C. and quality products I used to work 7 days a week on weekends I was the only one there..80 hours a week
Plus I went to night to night school got my journey man's card in mold making ( it took 3 years) took two years of night school in mold processing, 3 years in mold design ( when it was on boards and not cad cam)
I started off as a operator in two years I ran the show in the production department of 9 molding machines at just 21 years old ...
A few years later I ran everything..the production department, the tooling department, the stamping department and Q.C.
The owner of the small company kept sending me to all these seminars all over the country to Wilmington Delaware...Dupont, (mold prossesing )to Eaton in Colorado ( Q.C.)
To the GE plastic in Atlanta Georgia to name a few..
Not to mention when I quit I took 3 years latter of electronics at Triton college..

Posting back and forth with Old Rocks for the last 9 years........the whole time he has been going to college at night. Has a billion credits and knows the science inside out.....there is no doubt.
My thing is.......all the science in the world doesn't matter if it isn't impressing the public policy makers, which it clearly isn't. For as long as everybody viewing this forum is breathing, the world will be running on fossil fuels..........not even debatable. Because it must...........the politics dictate it ( see "Energy Germany" for the past 5 years ). Western countries that have done the green energy experiment have had a shotgun go off in their face. The public has been watching bombs being lobbed by the climate change industry for 25 years now and hardly anything has changed........which to me makes all the back and forth science debate an exercise in group navel contemplation. Most people in the world have the ability to think on the margin..........not the climate crusaders. The climate change industry thinks that if you paint a room, you can decide if you like the color or not 5 minutes after it is done and start all over if you don't like it. Most of the world doesn't work that way..........they wait a few hours to see what the color looks like when it is completely dry. Nobody is going to care about "extreme weather" they've seen 1,000 times before in their lives. Now.....get some photo's of Kim Kardasian laying on a float tanning her big ass in central Alaska in mid-January for a week and some folks will pay attention. People really into the whole climate change stuff warning of the end of days really don't understand this dynamic............the real world. As a behavioral psychologist, perhaps its analyzing human behavior for 33 years has made me a cynic. But I know this......words alone rarely change human behavior........research papers............maps........graphs.......etc. Seeing change in behavior changes behavior, thus, the Kim Kardasian analogy above.

Reread the the above included quotes. I simply was stating that many on this board (along with Trump as in the OP) are equating a very cold day somewhere as an argument against global warming. That is silly. Now you are a replying something about heat transfer in the ocean. That is sort of scatterbrained, don't you think?
