Does media/celebrity make us more passionate about human-interest issues such as eco-activism?

U.S. First Lady Melania Trump (wife of U.S. President Donald Trump) was busy coordinating a New Year's event involving Harper's Bazaar (a society magazine) and the eco-activism group the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in Los Angeles (California). Melania wanted to use Bazaar to launch a marketing campaign involving 'eco-conscious' (or 'eco-friendly') fashions, and her plan drew the attention of an eccentric Vegas magician named Mandrake!

Mandrake liked Bazaar and wanted to use Melania's New Year's 'scheme' to promote his own eco-conscious magic-show involving disappearing birds (symbolic of animals confused about migration timelines because of global warming). Mandrake contacted the White House and requested to be invited to the Los Angeles Bazaar-connected event as a 'guest-performer.' Melania agreed to invite Mandrake.

American actress/celebrity Charlize Theron was also attending the event (with a group of kids dressed in superhero costumes meant to signify eco-conscious activity --- e.g., Captain Planet, Captain Cold, Poison Ivy, etc., etc.). When Theron found out the White House invited a Vegas magician to be a guest-performer at the Bazaar event, she contacted Leo DiCaprio (a friend of hers) and schemed to show up at the L.A. event herself dressed as the Marvel Comics galactic anti-heroine Empress Lilandra! You see, Theron and Leo decided to exploit Mandrake's appearance at the event by making a loud gesture regarding 'eco-conscious performance art.'

Unfortunately, a terrorist calling himself Scarecrow also showed up at the L.A. Bazaar event and exposed to the crowd that he was carrying a fancy black-and-gold Cross pen loaded with a potent explosive. Everyone panicked, but Mandrake showed Scarecrow his disappearing bird trick and demanded to know why terrorism was more 'fruitful' for eco-activism than creative work. Scarecrow was surprised at Mandrake's unusual courage and explained, "The pen is truly mightier than the sword."

Fortunately, American actor/celebrity Ben Affleck (who was quite physically fit) was also at the event and had the gumption and gross-anatomy strength to tackle and wrestle Scarecrow to the ground. The police then took over and Scarecrow was hauled off to Arkham Asylum. Mandrake visited him at Arkham and asked him, "Why did you want to 'advertise' terrorism in front of the cameras?" to which the strange criminal replied, "The media is a 'tool' for psychiatry...and bias!"
