It was the Democrats who enslaved black people to work their plantations. It was Democrats who fought to keep the slaves as property. After the slaves were freed, it was Democrats who created the KKK to terrorize the blacks by murder and burning down their houses. It was the Democrats that opposed the 1950s civil rights act.
