Wow!! After months of claiming that food prices have stabilized suddenly the markets have been slammed by a stiff increase in basic staples like chicken and pork.

I say line up those price gouging CEOs and put them to death!

Oh wait it's not their fault that the energy bomb has caused their costs to skyrocket and therefore hit the consumer in the wallet! But let's hang them anyway! It'll just make us feel better!

Just hanging? We could make sausage out of em, you know.

Beef prices like ribeye or hamburger seem extremely variable. Hamburger $1.99 to $8.99 depending on sales. Yes I know fat grades also. But in general, normal edible hamburger. On a bun or with rice.

Rib-eye from $5.97 to $11.99 typically up to $35/lb from the elitest case.

It's amazing for the first time that I can remember Pork was more expensive than beef hamburger at the market this week. California prop 12 they say.

Beef pricing fluctuates almost like oil prices. Wait a day and it'll be back down.

Where do the jumbo shrimp fit into there? Because I sure have been sucking them down.
Is it possible that all of these critters have organized a union behind our backs? :smoke:

Seafood seems to have been stable for a while. I buy a lot of shrimp myself... Price has been pretty much the same for the past couple years.

What I am missing though are the Swai burgers I used to love.
Can't find them anywhere. I guess most of them came from Cambodian fish farms and eventually fell into disfavor with the FTC as well as the FDA.

If you know where I can find some I swear I'll drop ship you double the money!

What I can't find are fresh jalapeno peppers. During peak pepper season. This has been going on for a couple years. All of a sudden even during the growing season for the damn things, everytime I turn around, the stores are all out of jalapeno peppers.

And forget out buying pickled pequin peppers! They disappeared off the market a few years ago, now if you can find them, they are twice the price!

Huh.... I only buy fresh jalapenos once in a great while but I like to have them for certain dishes.
I haven't noticed that but I'll take your word for it.... I wonder what happened?

Jumbo shrimp are the new oysters

Yeah despite all the bugaboo and scary stuff I've never had any effect from it.

Well, I always keep it in the freezer until time to eat . If someone’s getting sick it’s because they left it out.

I had an uncle who ate different types of raw organ meat for 40 years ,, never got sick once. There would be more chance of getting sick from a bad tuna salad
