Populism is a seductive lie, similar to direct democracy.
Populism:
a political approach that strives to appeal to ordinary people who feel that their concerns are disregarded by established elite groups:
As best as I can tell, the true nature of politics is top-down and elite driven. It was like that even in the founder's days.
While there may be one-offs here and there ultimately an elite is only ever replaced by another elite.
In short, I think our goal (for the right-leaning) should be to replace our current elite with one that advances our interests.
Just to use one example....Like replacing the Turtle with Rand Paul.
The right-leaning need to understand that continuing to embrace populism is only going to lead us to further ruin.
Sucks but there it is.....Elitism wins, it just has to be our flavor that's chosen.
